Leadership Approaches to Decision Making
The dilemma for many managers is how to be participative
and get needed buy-in from others while at the same time
meet the demand for timely action.
Gaining the appropriate amount of commitment and acceptance
to decisions requires flexible leadership approaches.
This module will teach managers how to increase their
options in gaining the needed degree of commitment to
decisions that they need to make.
Managers will take an inventory of their own natural
decision making approach and then learn 4 other possible
approaches. Having the flexibility to use the range of
approaches increases efficiency and produces the degree
of acceptance needed from the group.
Objectives:
- To understand your leadership approach in making decisions
- To learn a framework for determining which decision
need what degree of group involvement
